I have been thinking about getting a camera. Actually it's pretty much all I think about at the moment. Except for the pauses where I actually ask myself, how much I need a digital camera. Well I don't. NEED one, but it would come in handy.
I'm not buying the top of the line of course, a simple point and click with enough manual features to get me started on one. Don't need to be sleek (*ahem* Rachel) or for it to fit into my shirt pocket or stuff like that. Anything last or 2 seasons ago would be fine and at the moment the winning choice is a Powershot A540. I found one at a shop for RM799. It's got manual features, you get to set the aperture and shutter speeds with manual focus if you want to dabble in that sort of thing. It runs on AA batteries, which I have a charger for. It's got enough nifty Canon features and according to reviews, the picture quality is pretty good. It's a stretch bit out of my usual budget for anything electronic (RM500) but I think it's value for money. (I wonder if they could throw in a Sharapova poster :))
Still on the lookout and still deciding when the right time to buy would be. Or rather, if there is a wrong time to buy. I have come to dislike buying stuff in general but I think I'm plenty thrifty enough. One can only hope.
