I just got back from Sarawak visiting Unimas and UiTM Sarawak. Unimas has quite an impressive brand spanking new campus. Everything in modern white and green tinted glass over green fields and fairways. The building I was in was circular, had funky platforms and glass all over. Very nice, but it was a little empty. I was later informed that it was their midterm break. Not very good, since I was there to see their lecturers and not many turned up for counseling. Still, the trip wasn't a total loss. We managed to scrape a few rag-tags and spoke to a few people.
Valentine's in Kuching
I stayed at the Kuching Hilton. I kept telling the taxi drivers 'PJ Hilton-PJ Hilton, I mean KUCHING Hilton'. If they could drive me to the PJ Hilton, I sure tip extra wan. The hotel was nice, but the hotel's steakhouse was closed for reasons unknown. I ate across the street at the Miami Bistro. Food was just so-so, it was cheap and the portions were generous. No one else ate there but I didn't care, I was hungry. After dinner, I walked along the riverside. All along the river (and the street) people were selling valentine goodies. Some were walking and pushing their wares on hapless couples via emotional blackmail.
"Buy lar, once a year only wat."
Hey with the prices they were charging for flowers, you might as well buy sex off the streets. :p
Then I returned to the hotel to watch television. There is a new season of Ed. I can't believe he's still going on about Carol. That show really needs to grow somewhere. It's just sad. Julie Bowen is still too hot tho. Yowza!
