I went on Thursday evening and there was absolutely nothing left! Except a few gimmick type toys but hey, am I a 3 year old? There were a few commemorative Soundwave toys which are exact reproductions of the original G1 toy but I didn't plan for that on my toy budget so I left to think about it as I often do. I don't like buying anything on impulse. I had to ask myself deep probing questions like, "would I be able to get through life without said commemorative Soundwave"? It comes with Lazerbeak and Ravage but no Rumble and Frenzy.
So I went back on Friday afternoon, after renewing my passport and right before going to the dentist I stopped by OU and THE SOUNDWAVES WERE GONE!1!! There must've been like 30 of them! All gobbled up by a handful of manic collectors in a matter of hours! So all I'm left with is this picture of the mighty Soundwave:
I'm still asking myself if I really, really, really should get it. But seeing that I can't buy one now makes me want it even more. I'm not that worried about not being able to get the movie toys just yet, I think it's just a supply oversight on the part of toy sellers and I expect a few restocks to do the trick. I don't think there is a limited run on those toys but I think the Soundwave ones are more likely to be a limited run compared to the movie ones. Guess I'll just have to see what's in Singapore.
