Singpapore was a blast, the stage was by the waterfront at the Esplanade. Playing in the cool & slightly drizzly evening with the sea breeze was lovely. I/we did botch up the playing a bit. We hadn't had a chance to practice one last time before the gig since the rest of the band had other matters to attend to while at Singapore and I had to do my runs around the toy stores. The sound crew were tops though and managed to make us sound good, or so I was told. Pictures are on Facebook, so if you want to see them, get Facebook! :)
Found a Classics Cliffjumper at OG Orchard Road on the first day and fantastic bargains on the last day, Revoltech Optimus & Megatron and Grimlock from the World's Smallest Transformer series. Also managed to get a radio-controlled R2D2. Pictures forthcoming!
Last weekend at Groove Junction for the 2nd time, I think we played our best set so far, Ching and Adlin got the crowd clapping and it's great to see people enjoying themselves despite the big match going on. The place was empty when we first arrived and I think we saved Groove Junction from a night of no takings. It's a particularly satisfying thought since we got a bit of a discouraging comment from Jose Thomas who owns the place when he heard us during the soundcheck. He even switched the keyboard sound to something reminiscent of cheesy 80s keys, ignoring protests from Ching. Tsk tsk elitist Jazz aficionados. :P
