Happy New Year

2008 is here, though as a number, I prefer 7 (8 has been taken over by the Cheenas) I welcome the new year anyway. Didn't do all that much. I realise my camera batteries' charge capacity is shrinking, I pop a pair into the camera and wait 2 minutes, the 'battery' logo will flash. So I didn't take any pictures of the new year's eve celebration. It will just be more pictures with me and Casandra and Lauren anyway. Not that they don't light up a picture but I guess I'll be taking more photos with them in the course of the year so...

2007 was a good year, financially I am far from struggling as I was 3 - 4 years ago. This year I got myself a camera (which is why you get to see more pics on this blog), an iPod and allot of other toys I don't need but what the heck, it's not like I have a car to pay for. Of course it goes without saying I need to make plans with the extra spending cash. Life is easier when you have no money and the only priority is making sure you have enough to eat and enough to pay a few utilities.

I guess I shouldn't complain.

Whatev, it's only money. I had fallen in love with the idea of making the least amount of money and making by with just that. Those skint years are a reminder of how liberating it can be to have nothing and not worry about it. I like to think of them as my Fight Club years and it has certainly taught me an awful lot.

Anyhoo, I'd like to dedicate this thread to my sunglasses. Hooray! I can't imagine now how I'd get by without em. I used to get migranes spending any amount of time in the sun and those sunglasses are a life saver. Every time I step into the glare of the sun (any sun, morning evening watev) I feel a stabbing in my eyes which would culminate in a headache towards the end of the day. I used to be all squinty too. Yup say goodbye to all that, my Oakleys are here to stay!
