Animated? Ani-awesome! :)

Transformers (Animated)

Animated is finally here and I got myself all the first wave Deluxes and Starscream from the first wave of Voyagers. Yea I'm cutting back. :(

Bumblebee is pretty cool, although at first the car mode is a bit plain and there are uneven shades of yellow due to the different plastics used on him, his robot mode is fantastic, great rim and head sculpt, good articulation, tight joints and a strong resemblance to the cartoon make him a winner. He is a bit larger than I'd like compared to his cartoon self.

Prowl is pretty good toy. The bike mode is beautiful, the best bike I've seen on a Transformer. His robot mode is just as pretty, with good articulation and again, a strong resemblance to his cartoon self (a design objective of the Animated series) make me a happy buyer. However, loose joints and the fact that he's just a little taller than Bumblebee make up my little list of nitpicking by Mr. P. His shuriken accessories are cool and they're his standard weapons in the cartoon but the traffic light on a string accessory is just lame and unnecessary. Hopefully some nail polish will help with the loose joints.

Lockdown is one of my favourite characters in the cartoon and I just love muscle car transformers. Not much to complain about besides the fact that he doesn't really have knees to bend. But his accessories are show-accurate and they stow away in both robot and car modes. His EMP blaster is also compatible with Ratchet so that's cool as well. But the best bit about this Deluxe toy is that it's only Deluxe in car mode, when transformed he's as big as a Voyager! Which is good because he's like big on the show.

Starscream looks great in this new evolution of the Fighter jet usurper. He is relatively simple to transform for a Voyager toy and he's about 85% show accurate. He's a little skinny compared to his lean but muscular looking cartoon self. His wings are humongous on the toy too. A nice head sculpt, good articulation, stable footing and firing missles makes this toy a pretty good buy. The left leg on mine however, is prone to coming off so I have to be careful because it does get annoying sometimes.
