Facebook 1959

I am poring over old photographs of Mr. Chang. He was an elder at the church in the 50s till the 80s (I think) and passed away in the early 90s. This is for the church's 50th anniversary and also partly out of curiosity of course. I do have a little interest in most things history. It is a little weird looking at old photographs of people I hardly know but part of the fun comes from trying to figure out who the faces are.

You get a feeling of pseudo-nostalgia. It's not my past though the monochrome images certainly evoke similar feelings of nostalgia but your brain tells you your heart is lying.

So you go through these faces, the fashion, the hairstyles, the cars and even the geography and you realise these people aren't really so different from you and I. And you wonder if they were going through the exact things you're going through and you wonder how they dealt with it and you get sad thinking about these once young faces growing old and dying.

And you realise you're next and you wonder if someone down a few years will look back at your photo and you wonder what they'll think of you.
