You Can't Cook Two Goat's Head in a Pot

On Sunday I decided to walk to the Curve for dinner. After dinner I went to watch Mongol. It was awesome. I want to eat Sup Kambing everyday now after that cinematic experience.

This epic saga on Genghis Khan's life charts his rise from the death of his father, who was Khan of his modest tribe which lead to a betrayal by a tribesman who ran off with everything they had. He was held captive many times and escaped as much and was even sold to slavery in a town to which he returned to sack, after escaping to unite the Mongols under his banner.

The movie isn't perfect, it might be a little slow to those suffer from ADHD but the cinematography, costumes, music and lead actors were superb. And I like these sort of low budget epics anyway where the action is filmed with as little CGI as possible.

But I think what I liked most is the portrayal of these nomadic peoples who lived in the vast wilderness of the Mongolian Steppes. Horse riding was essential and children were adept at riding from a very early age. Coupled with their skill and accuracy with a bow and arrow, on horseback at full gallop made them a nasty and fearsome force in whatever BC. Oh and don't get me started on their diet of spit roasted wild game and goat soup.

MODERNISATION IS TEH SUXX! :P
