I've been following the maid debacle on the news. I find it alarming in this day and age, foreigners are made to work without a mandatory day off. It's unbiblical and smacks of slavery over an impoverished people group.
The Star took an SMS poll and many employers were against the idea of a day off. Reasons for this include that the maids will run off and they don't need a day on their own for rest and that many take their maids out shopping with them.
Imagine if you live in your office and your employer makes you work 7 days a week. But what if you want to hang out with your friends? No need, you can go shopping with your boss' family instead. What sort of dumbass society do we live in? >:(
