Chinese New Year

Everything is ghostly dead out there. Especially at night. I feel celebrations are pretty subdued this year. Somehow it doesn't really feel like CNY except for the deserted streets. But things do not seem jubilant out there.

Twice this year I've heard about people wanting to register to vote for the first time. I keep making that promise myself and this year I will do it. Tomorrow maybe?

My domestic survival skills have adapted very well to the lazy days of CNY. Except this time of year I'm forbidden to clean. I... will... try... my... best. Improvising on breakfast, lunch and dinner however, I can do. I've got 2 packets of MAS complimentary peanuts and some packets of complimentary nescafe and lipton sachets from the Kuching Hilton. Add that with pineapple tart-like cookie (it's not really a tart but it's got the pineapple jam) and some sugared sweets that I 'kebas'ed from my mother's house and I've got myself a decent ration kit.

Oh wait, I have some mandarins from the office. What is CNY without the mandarin oranges?

it takes getting used to for the stomach and the butt has to be lazy enough to ignore the brain. ;)
