How I Survived Super Wednesday

It started at dawn. I woke up to read a message saying that the chairman of the company had passed away. Bit of a weird way to start Super Wednesday but I was in a rush and didn't think much about it and picked up Casandra, Lauren & the Two Loos and thus began SUPER WEDNESDAY! (An Ongoing Two Loos Project for Painting the Town Red and Other Destructive Hobbies). We met Zoe, Richard and JLim at the rendezvous point, SS2 for Dim Sum. What a perfect way to start the day. With Siew Mai and Har Kow. We ate then we set off for our 2nd activity for the day. Casualties were minimal at that point. JLim had to leave early to tend to his mother and Lauren had to study.

The Alien Marathon was next. We watched it at Aty Ah Eng's apartment, which had a huge TV and surround sound. Munched on biscuits and 'fake coke'. Sloo started developing a stomach ache. It's a chest burster for sure. Alien led to Aliens and the general consensus was that the latter is better but I prefer the atmospheric creepiness of the former. We watched the director's cut of both movies which were considerably longer and finished around 2++pm. Our next casualty was Casandra who was over an hour overdue for home (she had promised her parents just breakfast tsk tsk tsk). I managed to convince her to have lunch with us, which we did, McDonald's take away at her house.

At Casandra's Mansion we sat around the dining table watching Calvin's attempt at spelling. Then we went to his room when he had to go for tuition to play with his drums and Transformers toys. Quite a nice stash too. We also managed to deface Casandra's room a bit with drawings of a mad pig, a demon sheep and an alien. Sisters who do not complete SUPER WEDNESDAYS will have their rooms defaced!

Ok so it's not quite 'Paint the Town Red' so far but it's definately some 'Destructive Hobbying'. :P

We returned to the apartment after that, with more space in the car. We watched Predator next. We wanted to catch the 'component' movies that made up the Aliens vs Predator mythos but only those that were considered 'good', which basically is Alien, Aliens (which we had completed) and Predator. It's definitely one of Arnold's best movies, the others being Terminator 1 & 2 (2 was directed by James Cameron, who also did Aliens). It's definitely a different show compared to the Alien shows, a B grade flick that managed to garner cult status among the fanboys. It was also full of hilarious quotables from Ahnuld and his band of ill-fated mercenaries. :) The show would've been better had my VCD copy not conk out toward the end but we managed to catch several severely pixelised frames of Predator vs Ahnuld showdown goodness woohoo!

Our 2nd last stop for the day was dinner at One Utama where we were supposed to meet more members for our final leg of SUPER WEDNESDAY! The Two Lees and Two Lims were supposed to join us there but only the Lims managed to make it. It was good to have Lauren and Jason back. We had a simple dinner at Old Town Kopitiam before we proceeded to Big Apple for some donuts and TopShop to get a blazer that caught my fancy. Then we went back to my place for our final bang of the night, cardgames & donuts! Next on our casualty list was Zoe and Lauren because well, it was a school night. However, Joel managed to make it to my apartment later that night. Over dinner, Lauren informed us of the passing of Heath Ledger. Wow what a difference a day away from the internet makes! And that's news of 2 deaths in a day.

At my place, everyone was wowed by my collection of toys on display until they saw the unopened ones. Kev took a few pictures of the toys and me with my blazer on, in proper fashion show like. Jason taught them kids the ropes to Up and Down the River. Sloo won the night and I lost big time. What a stupid game. And so we completed SUPER WEDNESDAY in full honours and some pictures to boot:
